
Activision announced on June 3, 2012, that the game was the best-selling console and handheld video game in the world for 2012. Japan eventually saw a release of this game, handled by Toys “R” Us and Square Enix, and was released for the Wii, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo 3DS, and the region also received a unique Wii U port exclusively (rather than an Xbox 360 release), being released on July 12, 2013, nearly two years after its release in the western regions, making this the first Spyro game to be released in Japan for almost ten years, since Spyro Orange: The Corte It is also Vivendi SA’s final Japanese release of the Spyro the Dragon series (Formerly Vivendi Universal).


The game was released on October 14, 2011, in Europe, October 16, 2011, in North America, and December 15, 2011, in South America (including Brazil) by Neoplay. It was released on October 12, 2011, for PC in Australia and on October 13, 2011, for other consoles. Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure was created by Toys for Bob and published by Activision. It’s a video game with toy figures that interact with it via a “Portal of Power” that reads their tag via NFC and features the voices of Josh Keaton, Dave Wittenberg, Darin De Paul, Joey Camen, Audrey Wasilewski, Keythe Farley, and Kevin Michael Richardson.
